It is Sunday late afternoon, and I am reflecting on our 50th Anniversary celebration from earlier in the day. God has certainly been good to us. Even when things looked bleak at times, God faithfully provided what we needed at the time. I would like to thank the Women’s Group, under the leadership of Barbara Ney and Doris Pinhack, for all of their hard work at putting this event together and all of the boards that contained historical pieces. If you haven’t had a chance to see them, they will be up for a couple weeks. I would like to thank Nancy Stewart and the choir for the beautiful rendition of “We Are the Church.” How appropriate for this occasion. I would like to thank the Caterer and his crew to help us enjoy the meal and fellowship around the tables. And there is the set-up and take down crew that transformed our sanctuary into a Banquet hall: Doris & Frank, Phil & Edie, Joe & Barbara, Sandy & Dave, Ed & Pat, Neal, and Myself. As I mentioned in my message, this congregation was founded by people who were not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ and I pray that as we are faithful and keep Jesus Christ the focus of who we are, that we will continue to enjoy God’s blessing and favor. Happy 50th Anniversary, RWCC!!! May we have at least 50 more.
